Creating Cross-References from the Scanner

Creating Cross-References from the Scanner

Cross References are a good resource to match an internal billing part number to the barcode on non-factory parts.

Great for chemicals and tires.

Step 1. Download your inventory on PartsWizard by clicking on the Download button in the top left.

*Note that if you've already done your download for the morning, you can skip this step*

Step 2. Remove the scanner from the cradle, and launch PartsWizard as you would normally.

Step 3. Depending on the scanner you have, to set the cross-reference, you will want to navigate to the appropriate tab.

PPT Scanner (Windows):

Look towards the bottom of the scanner screen and select the icon that says "XR"

All Other Scanners:

Upon loading PartsWizard, click on the Cross-Reference button.

Step 4. Scan the part number that you want to change, this should show up in the top field. In the bottom field, begin typing in the part number. A pop-up list will appear as you start typing in the numbers, displaying potential parts that you are typing out. When you see the correct part number, select that and then click Apply.

*Note that you should be using the keypad on the scanner for this part, so that the part number suggestions will pop up, otherwise, they won't.*

Step 5. Once you're finished with your cross references, set the scanner back in the cradle, and then click the sync scanner icon, and then perform a new download.
